Restraints

Gagged and bound, voice muted,

Dissent supressed and doubts refuted,

Speech censored, measured and weighed,

Meaning checked, Implications stayed.

 

O!Liberty, thy spirit is lost,

In cultures and customs venerated,

Progress and at what cost?

Of freedom so ill fated.

 

Break free before the reigns get too tight,

Do not go without a fight.
